The year of 1949 was a very important one, both for Le Mans and for Ferrari, for it was in that year that the race was run again after a ten-year interval, and it was the first year that the Ferrari name was seen at the Sarthe circuit.
Incredibly, in their "début" race, Ferrari won, lauching this now legendary marque into a glorious association with this famous event.
Since then over 250 Ferraris have taken part in the Le Mans race, adding eight more victories and a multitude of high placings and class awards to the Roll of Honour.
Within the covers of this book can be found a photograph of every single one of the cars entered - either by the factory or by privateers - together with an acompanying caption giving details of the car's entrant and drivers, and its performance in the race. There is also a car data table for each year's event, in which can be found each car's specification listed against it's race number.
Ferraris at Le Mans provides a unique and informative reference source which will prove invaluable to Ferrari and endurance racing enthusiasts alike.
